SoundFont Keyboard User Guide

Welcome to SoundFont Keyboard, a virtual keyboard app that integrates multiple instrument sounds and recording functions. Here is a detailed guide on how to use this app:

1. Select an instrument

Select an instrument...: Click this option and a list of instruments will pop up. Select the instrument sound you want to use from the list. In this example, the currently selected instrument is "Acoustic Grand Piano".

2. Recording and Playback

Record: Click the "Record" button to start recording. During recording, you can play any notes on the keyboard and they will be recorded. After recording, click the "Record" button again or use other controls to stop recording.

Play: Click the "Play" button to play the audio you recorded. If you are not currently recording, this button may not be active or perform other functions (such as playing a preset melody).

Stop: Click the "Stop" button to stop playing the current audio or stop recording (if recording is in progress).

3. Transpose and Fine Tuning

Transpose: Adjust the overall pitch of the keyboard by clicking the "-" or "+" buttons. This allows you to shift a recorded melody up or down one or more semitones without re-recording.

Fine Tune: Similar to Transpose, but provides finer pitch adjustments. Fine tuning via the "-" or "+" buttons allows precise control of subtle changes in pitch. This is very useful for professional users who pursue perfect pitch.

4. Keyboard Layout

The letters displayed on the keyboard represent different notes. For example, E, A, F, D, G, C, etc. are basic notes in the natural scale, while Em, Am, Dm, Bm, Cm, Fm, E7, A7, D7, G7, C7, etc. represent different chords. You can find and play these notes or chords directly on the keyboard.

Note: Some chords may require pressing multiple keys at the same time to form.

5. Other Features

This app may also contain other advanced features, such as effects (such as reverb, delay), volume control, MIDI output support, etc. The specific features depend on the version and configuration of the app.

Tips

Before recording, make sure you have selected the correct instrument and the appropriate transposition/fine tuning settings.

Try different chord and melody combinations to explore the expressiveness of different timbres.

Use the "Stop" button to stop recording or playback in time to avoid unnecessary audio clips.

If you need to save your recording, check out the app's save and export functions.

I hope this guide will help you make the most of SoundFont Keyboard and create beautiful music!
